Johnny Jameson 22 05 1934 – 28 11 2012

A gentleman amongst men. A hard-working, honest man, who was truly devoted to his family. A source of comfort and a smile, always there no matter what.

Always laughing, telling a joke or two – either that or talking about football. Laurel and Hardy and John Wayne were his heroes, although I think my childhood love of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ drove him insane!

You’re going to be missed by so many people; too many to mention. First and foremost, your wife, Granny Betty, daughter Janine, sons Johnny and Brian (dad), as well as all your grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Your daughter-in-law, my mum Marie and extended family this side of the water, in Manchester, will always hold you in a special place in their hearts.

Gone but can never truly be forgotten. Hope when you look down on us all, we can make you as proud of us as we are of you.

Rest In Peace, Granda. I can think of no greater honour than to be your Grandson.

Brian Junior x

Samuel Underwood 1881 – 1939

Samuel had a milk cart, which was pulled by a faithful horse. He was an asthmatic and Mary was always concerned when he was over due home. On one occasion he was terribly late and panic set into the Underwood household. The horse and cart was eventually spotted coming down the road without its driver. Fearing the worst, Mary ran out to meet it. In the bottom of the cart was Samuel’s unconscious body. Dragging him out of the back she carried him into the house and placed him in their bed. Then she smelt his breath: he was blind drunk. He was soon forgiven. It was Christmas and his customers’ generosity caused his condition. Read more…

My mum’s uncle died of a brain tumor on the 30th of May 1997. I was only a three year old at the time, so I don’t remember much about him, but my mum says he was a great. RIP Uncle Chris

Edre Henry

One of Ebbie’s memorable moments was in a car park in Monaghan. Trying to park her battered, dog eaten Austin Mini Metro into a space that was not big enough, she decided that the only way to achieve this desired manoeuvre was to hit the cars to her left, right, rear and front. The two Jack Russell Terriers that were perched on the rear window shelf braced themselves. She parked the car exclaiming, “Sure it was just a kiss.” The two Jack Russell Terriers that were perched on the rear window shelf relaxed. Read more…

Monaghan (Irish: Muineachán) is the county town of County Monaghan, Ireland. Its population at the 2011 census was 7,452 including suburbs and environs. The town is on the N2 road from Dublin to Derry and Letterkenny.

www.independent.co.uk  – Amid the chaos sat Sprite, her gaze baleful at this interruption to her routine. A less aptly-named creature you couldn’t find: she was two solid stone of Jack Russell, shaped like a brick and in full moult, her hairs apparent on every black trouser leg in the room. The mourners would all be taking a piece of her home whether they liked it or not.

“The dog knows, you know,” wailed Mrs P as she rushed the kettle from the Aga to wet the tea. “The dog knows…” Read more
